Bending Steel

Photographed in White Rock, B.C., by Beverly Malcom

Bending Steel

The tracks lay beside me
Cool steel on a seemingly endless passageway
Of time
Marching on
Row after row
Line after indelible line
Etching phrases
People
Places
Into the recesses of my mind
I march on
In locomotive unison
Bending cool steel
Stealing hard time
