Midnight Sky

I gazed upon the midnight sky
Laying flat – quiet
Taking it in
Taking in you
You, quiet too
Holding hands
Peace encapsulated
Peace understood
Shot after shot
The stars crashed
The fireflies danced
Your delicate embrace – steadfast embers warming my soul
The meteors collided and stardust exploded above the Milky Way
And we lay motionless
Taking it all in.
